Biking Holidays:

Bike Italien arranges three biking holidays in the romantic and dramatic area around the Garda Lake, in Trentino, in the Lessinia Mountains and in the Valpolicella. The holidays consist of six days of riding with seven nights in hotels, agriturismi or rustic bed and breakfasts.

The routes take you through a mountainous area with a gorgeous and dramatic nature, rich and diverse culture, and a fascinating (at times bloody!) history in an area full of relics from the roman, medieval, Venezian, Napoleon and Austrian periods! The routes uses ferryboats, cable lifts and will take you by fortified medieval towns and romantic cities like Verona and Mantova!

The Biking Holidays can be ordered by couples or families all year long (check "calender" in the menu for exceptions!) ! Maps and meticulous route descriptions will lead you through the romantic landscape (no guide on daily rides). Your luggage will be transported from accommodation to accommodation while you relax and enjoy exploring! All three routes include rides in tree-less, rural landscapes from the top of Monte Baldo and/or the Lessinia Mountains with extraordinary views to the Garda Lake and surrounding mountains! Their will be many possible attractions and activities on your way: Medieval castles, archaeological ruins, ancient fortified bridges, sanctuaries, a waterfall park, traditional Italian villas, war momuments, hot springs, amusement parks, a zoo and a series of panoramic view points!

For our guests in July and August, opera in the 2.000 year old Arena in Verona and/or wine-tasting in Valpolicella of famous wines like Amarone, Ripasso and Recioto, can be part of your unforgettable biking holiday!

Also, different kinds of adventure-sports like white-water-river-rafting, canyoning and via ferrata with professional guides can be arranged!

We have three routes of various difficulty:

The classic green route with few hills and preferable asphalt and white roads but many exiting attractions and things to do and see on the way. (40-50 km a day, touring bikes).

The blue route is more demanding with occasional hills and different surfaces like rough gravel roads and old military stone roads. (40-60 km a day, mountain bikes)

The red route for those who want to be challenged a bit during their holiday with shorter mountain bike single tracks, forest tracks and rough gravel roads. (40-60 km a day, mountain bikes).

Bike and Wine: (6th - 13th September, 2009)

The 2nd week in September, we'll arrange a biking and wine holiday - a guided tour with up to 16 participants! Every day will have events related to the wine growing, production... or tasting! The comprehensive program will include participation in the popular wine-festival of Avio Castle. We will enjoy the hospitality of a wine grower, participate in the harvest of grapes and celebrate as it is tradition! During the week we will taste wine in different wine districts: Valpolicella, Lugana, Soave, Custoza and Terra delle Forte. Daily rides will be 40-50 km, on mountain or touring bikes.

Last but not least, we will participate in the most popular wine manifestation in Valpolicella, a walk from wine yard to wine yard in the outskirts of Negrar (the capital of Valpolicella), carrying your wine glass around your neck and your appetite! The classical Italian villas and cantinas will serve their best wine along with delicious local dishes and specialities! Spectacular!
